What are the end of life options for JJ Rabbit® Made from Plants™ products?

The PLA bio-plastic used in JJ Rabbit® products has more end of life options than any other plastics material. The end of life options for JJ Rabbit® Made from Plants™ products include Composting, Recycling, Incineration with energy recovery, and Landfill.

How do you compost JJ Rabbit® Made from Plants™ products?

JJ Rabbit® Made from Plants™ products are compostable in municipal and industrial composting facilities, available throughout the world. Please visit findacomposter.com. The PLA bio-plastic used in JJ Rabbit® products require both high temperature and moisture to compost. Therefore, it is not recommended for use in typical backyard compositing unless you have a compost system that meet these conditions.

Can you recycle JJ Rabbit® Made from Plants™ products?

Yes – you can include JJ Rabbit® Made from Plants™ products in your recycling. JJ Rabbit® Made from Plants™ products can exist in the present North American infrastructure with the existing commercial systems for recycling PET and HDPE.

Will JJ Rabbit® Made from Plants™ products biodegrade in a landfill?

JJ Rabbit® Made from Plants™ products will NOT biodegrade in a conventional landfill. Neither does anything else. However, when thinking about environmental impact, it’s important to recognize that PLA results in 75% less greenhouse gases than oil-based PET plastic, even if both end up in a landfill.

Will JJ Rabbit® Made from Plants™ products emit methane in a landfill?

Methane is a powerful greenhouse gas. Some PHA bio-plastics can emit methane when decomposing in a landfill. The PLA bio-plastic compound in JJ Rabbit® products has no material methane emissions in the landfill.

CARE AND USE

How do you clean JJ Rabbit® Made From Plants™ products?

JJ Rabbit® Made from Plants™ products can be hand washed or washed in the top rack of a dishwasher. If using a dishwasher, the dry-heating temperature should not exceed 185°F or 85°C.

Are slight discolorations normal on JJ Rabbit® Made From Plants™ products over time?

Over long periods of time, the plant-based material in JJ Rabbit products can react to acidity in milk or foods by light staining or slight discolorations. This is normal and not cause for concern. To avoid such discoloration, limit contact with high-acidity foods or beverages (such a citrus or milk) to fewer than 2 hours at a time.

Can I microwave JJ Rabbit® Made from Plants™ products?

Microwave use is not recommended beyond very short reheating (less than 5 seconds). Extended microwave exposure can begin to break down the plant sugars, which is not harmful; but can reduce the shelf life of the product.

What is the shelf life of JJ Rabbit® Made from Plants™ products?

With everyday use and regular cleaning in the dishwasher, JJ Rabbit® Made from Plants™ products have a shelf life of 18-24 months. If products are well taken care of, such as disposal of uneaten food or drink immediately after usage and hand washing, the shelf life is up to 3 years. Unused and stored in a cool and dry place, JJ Rabbit® Made from Plants™ products will last for many years.

How do you clean the JJ Rabbit® dryBIB™?

The JJ Rabbit® dryBIB™ is machine washable. We recommend to machine wash cold and air dry.

When will I receive my order?

We ship via USPS. US orders should arrive within 5 business days. International orders are usually delivered within 10 business days; but can take up to 3 weeks depending on the destination country.

What are my payment options?

Paypal processes all of our payment, so you know your transaction is secure. We accept PayPal and all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover).

What are my shipping options?

USPS is our default shipper.

Where can I buy JJ Rabbit®?

You can find a retailer near you here. For international customers, please find our international distributors here. If there is a particular product you are interested in, we recommend calling beforehand since not all retailers will have the entire product line in stock.

What is the return policy?

We accept returns for products purchased on jjrabbit.com for 30 days after sale. Returns must be unused, in original packaging, and undamaged. For products purchased from other retailers, please contact the retailer directly.

Are JJ Rabbit® products safe for my children?

At JJ Rabbit® nothing is more important to us than the safety of your children and ours. All JJ Rabbit® products are designed and tested according to the applicable regulations. In the US this includes Consumer Products Safety Commission regulations, the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act, and standards defined by the American Society for Testing and Materials.

All of our products are BPA-free, Phthalate-free, and PVC-free.
